Reinhard Warkling

Mr. Warkling is a seasoned entrepreneur, inventor, and an acknowledged expert in the field of ultrasound imaging and therapy responsible for the design and development of the first commercially successful fetal ultrasound duplex scanner and all electronic IVUS technology. He combines in depth ultrasound know how with many granted in use patents with minimal invasive catheter expertise. Mr. Warkling has successfully led five ultrasound companies, most notably EndoSonics Corporation as CEO & Chairman and was responsible for the sale of that public company for USD 210m in cash. He turned two companies around from significant losses to profitability and started his own company, Warkling Medizintechnik, GmbH, that was profitable from start and sold it successfully to Dornier Medizintechnik, GmbH. Most recently, he was Pres. and CEO of ProRhythm Inc., a therapeutic ultrasound company, where he developed HIFU technology for various cardiac applications. At ProRhythm, he initiated and subsequently sold an ultrasound program for the percutaneous treatment of mitral valve insufficiency. Mr. Warkling brings extensive management experience in domestic as well as international executive positions, ranging from large corporate environments to emerging medical device companies. He raised in total over USD 200m, through IPO’s, private equity investments and strategic alliances.
